Kelly Farrish, PhD, LCSW-C is a Licensed Certified Social Worker-Clinical (LCSW-C) in the state of Maryland where she has worked since 2017. Clinically, Dr. Farrish focuses on children and their families, primarily supporting children in the 10-14 age range with presenting concerns around anxiety, emotional dysregulation, and/or trauma.  Dr. Farrish is also a certified Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) provider, offering evidenced based trauma treatments to individuals of all ages.  Dr. Farrish grounds herself in cognitive theory; however, she will utilize techniques from other modalities such as play therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and expressive arts (sandtray, painting, coloring, etc).

In research, Dr. Farrish's focus is on improving systemic wellness for counselors, exploring the ways in which organizations can support against the development of burnout amongst their employees. Other research areas and projects include the impact of purity culture on the sexual attitudes and beliefs of women and the use of Generative AI to support the training of emerging clinicians.
