Linda-Jeanne M. Mack, MSW, LICSW is a PhD student at the School of Social Work, University of Maryland, Baltimore. Prior to becoming a doctoral student, Ms. Mack worked in the child welfare system for over a decade in Massachusetts with the most recent six years as the director of a permanency program for children in foster care that focused on returning children to their families or finding placement alternatives when that was not possible. She also worked for several years as a community mental health therapist specializing in working with individuals and families who had been impacted by family separation and adoption. Ms. Mack was also an adjunct lecturer in the Bachelors of Social Work program at Western New England University for four years. Her current research interests include the intersection of social and legislative policies on the child welfare system, preventing family separation through foster care and reunifying families already experiencing separation. Ms. Mack enjoys traveling, spending time at the beach whenever possible, and being with her husband, family, and friends.
